Innistrad Commander Deck Vampiric Bloodline è la 90a espansione di Magic ed è l’ultima espansione di Magic The Gathering prevista nel 2021.

Il set era stato inizialmente annunciato con il nome provvisorio di Innistrad: Vampires ma fu cambiato e alla fine approvato con il nome di Innistrad Commander Deck Vampiric Bloodline nel marzo del 2021.

Entrambi i set di Innistrad sono completi e legali nel formato Standard e, sebbene ci sia una differenza di due mesi tra l’uno e l’altro, R&D non cambierà il numero di set che verrà aggiunto al formato Standard durante la finestra di rotazione, ma si sposterà solo in avanti quando usciranno.

I set sono pensati per poter fare il draft singolarmente ma possono essere utilizzati insieme in quanto le carte hanno delle ottime sinergie fra loro.

Storia:

Crimson Vow continuerà la nuova trama di Innistrad iniziata in Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. Mentre l’umanità si rivolge alla speranza dei rituali e di un festival di Harvesttide per salvarli dall’Eternal Night in Midnight Hunt, quelli che si aggirano dalle ombre non sono solo gli zombi senza cervello e i lupi mannari frenetici, ma anche gli eterni non morti con grandiosi progetti.

Questo set presenta il più grande matrimonio di vampiri nella storia di Innistrad, un legame tra le stirpi Markov e Voldaren.

Olivia Voldaren è la sposa e punta a stringere un patto con i Markov per prendere il controllo di Innistrad.

The codename for Innistrad: Crimson Vow (“Clubs”) deviates from the regular alphabetic sports naming convention, because the set was concepted after the following codenames were already established.^[5] The set was announced with the provisional name Innistrad: Vampires on September 1, 2020.^[3]

Based on the registration of public domains on September 18, 2020, the final name was speculated to be Innistrad: Crimson Vow.^[6] This was finally confirmed on March 18, 2021.^[4]

Both Innistrad sets are full size sets and they are both are Standard–legal. Although they come out only two months apart in the latter part of 2021, R&D is not changing how many sets are being added to Standard during the rotation window, but just shifted the timing around slightly.^[7] The sets are designed to draft by themselves, but they also will draft well together.

The two sets are synergistic and overlap in spots.^[8][9] This will be further explored as parts of the sets are reprinted in the Innistrad Double Feature set that will be released in early 2022.
